Let me hear your preferred pot to cook your rice in?
I’m experimenting with different type of rice and cooking in different types of pots, pans and also a rice cooker at the moment.
Sometimes I like a wetter rice, sometimes a drier rice. I find it harder to dial these differences in when using a rice cooker than when using a regular pot or pan.
I also experiment using my favourite pan for risotto to cook plain rice in, a 24 cm sauter pan.
I also experiment using a stainless steel pot with alu sandwich bottom, a ply pot, a 2.5 copper pot and an ECI pot for cooking rice.
What type of pot do you prefer for rice cooking and do you use the same pot no matter the type of rice you’re cooking?
BTW do you think a steam hole in the lid is a good or negative thing ?
I know good rice needs a lot if steam to cook nicely, but is steam hole a NO-GO or what and if so, why do so many electric rice coolers have this steam hole in the lid ?
Also do you feel non-stick pan for rice cooking is a positive, because it prevents the rice from burning to the bottom of the pan or do you cook rice with perfect technique, so using a PLY or copper pan is the way to go for you ?
