Pre-Theater Home Run

My S.O. and I showed up at Dedo last night at 7pm, a half hour late for our pre-theater reservation. We let the waiter know our situation and he pleasantly and confidently got us through our meal and out the door in 53 minutes.

The food was every bit as wonderful as other Hounds have reported: seared scallops were cooked to perfection, full of flavor and nicely offset by a cauliflower garnish. Ricotta gnocchi, served with wild mushrooms and little slices of butternut squash, accompanied by the optional little slab of seared foigras was absolutely marvelous. Finished off with a shared dessert-chocolate torte with salted caramel granache and pear sorbet. We were dubious about the salt aspect, but it worked beautifully. All the flavors came through strongly, but without the overwhelming sweetness typical of flashy desserts. We were also quite pleased with the check - $67 including 2 glasses of wine.
