We had dinner at Divino last night before seeing the delightful Jay Johnson at the Brentwood Theater. The amuse of the evening was a refreshing eggplant involtini with ricotta and herbs and we immediately followed it with one of the day's special soups, a silky onion blend with nice spicy meatballs, the Divino and shrimp salads all, I believe in the $12 range. I had the special ricotta and spinach stuffed gnocchi (yes, it can be done) in a ragu while my friends had the tortelloni in a zucchini sauce and the gnocchi in a porcini sauce all for $17.95. We finished we a wonderful creamy tiramisu. Only the $40 St. Francis merlot lacked for inspiration. Now, who ordered that?
