My family is coming to Seattle next month for a Christmas concert. I'll be hosting a pre-concert dinner. With all the stress (excitement?) of family and holiday, not to mention getting to the theater on time, I'd like to come up with something that requires as little last-minute work as possible. One thought is a beef tenderloin, mashed potatoes, a vegetable, and muck-muck cake for dessert. But now I'm worried that even the Rockettes couldn't keep us awake after that meal! Am I wrong? If so, any suggestions for a lighter do-ahead dinner? Thought about Dugeness (sp?) crab bisqe, french bread, salad, lemon tart. Any advice/opinions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
