Mom and I will be attending the 8 p.m. performance of the Martha Graham company on Friday. We'd like to go some place close enough that we could eat at a reasonable hour and have a short(ish) drive to the college. I'm well aware that there is nothing in Purchase, so we're open to suggestions in White Plains, possibly Port Chester or Greenwich, etc.
The restaurant should be on the nicer side, but still fairly casual/reasonably priced. Mom is a sucker for nice atmosphere, I'm--well--a chowhound. We're fairly diverse in our tastes, though Mom's not a fan of Spanish/South American cuisines (yes, I know this is a huge limit). Japanese, Thai, new American, French/new French, and Italian cuisines all appeal (debates as to whether good versions of any of these can be found in Westchester aside).
We've done City Limits a thousand times (also, it's not really special enough) and are not in the mood for Bengal Tiger. We're considering going back to Blue (Mom liked it a lot, I thought it was ok), or to FISH. I'd love to entertain any other recs, though. TIA!
