Prasadam on Sunset -- review

chuckles | Feb 26, 200511:12 PM

Went there this morning hoping for perhaps a coffee and a bagel (too lazy to wait for a table at any of the ever-full breakfast establishments on the same strip of Sunset in Silver Lake) and was pleasantly surprised to receive a breakfast menu -- albeit slightly crumpled -- in addition to their regular menu.

Had a delicious strawberry latte and a bagel sandwich with scrambled eggs, cheese, veggie sausage, basil leaves, and tomato. I'm a sucker for veggie sausage. And the toasted bagel had just the right amount of crunch and chew to it. My breakfast companion had a waffle filled with fresh pear sprinkled with cinnamon (optional butter, whipped cream, and powdered sugar.) I've generally been pleased with the food I've had there (kick ass Bruce Lee salad, no pun intended, okay, slightly intended) except maybe for a butternut squash soup, which tasted like it came from a box...

Everything is prepared carefully and presented nicely. And although my friend and I jokingly call it "the slow food movement" because sometimes service is a little spotty, we do recommend it.
