Praise for Romano's Famous Pizza in Astoria

Right on Broadway, between 33 and 34th.

I used to live in Astoria, and went back to visit this weekend. I had my very favorite Astorian dish, Romano's souvlaki platter. Lots of chunks of tender grilled lamb. Greek salad. Fries. Tzatziki and a grilled pita. A sublime confluence of taste, freshness and value - $7.75 for a heaping platter.

About three times a week, I think "I should have souvlaki for dinner." Then I remember I now live in Brooklyn and I have to eat at Zaytoon's instead.
