Just bought a beautiful new home with a 48" bluestar range and a ventahood with 2 300 CFM magic lung blowers. I love cooking with high heat to get that perfect sear, but the vent a hood barely clears any smoke. One perfectly seared steak in a cast iron will set off every fire alarm in our 4000 sqft home (and don't get me started on what happened when I tried to use the grill attachment).
I need recommendations for the BEST possible hood/motor configuration. Willing to pay premium. I don't care about noise. I just want performance - something powerful enough to suck a small cat off the counter would be "just right".
