Powdered Sugar Without Corn Starch

cheyenne | Dec 20, 2003 12:33 PM

I have recently discovered I am sensitive/intolerant to corn and corn products (which, it seems, is like EVERYTHING). My current obsession is to try to find powdered sugar that does not contain corn starch (either no starch, which I'm not sure they make, or wheat starch, or anything else). I have called all the health food type stores I can think of in the area and no luck; I have only discovered one product that may not have it (Big Chief Brand from Monitor Sugar) and they are located in Michigan and proudly advertise that they sell their fine products in "convenient 25-lb, 50-lb, and 100-lb bags" as well as by the truck or traincar load (*sigh*).

Does anyone recall ever seeing this brand anywhere in bay area stores? Or know of another brand of powdered sugar (confectioners sugar) that does not contain corn starch?

(thanks!)
