Sure, I've had french fries with gravy and cheese (usually swiss) melted on top in many diners. Good stuff indeed, given the circumstances and the dearth of poutine culture in NYC (many of you know this, but in Montreal, McDonalds, Burger King, La Belle Province, and almost any other take out dep [corner store] and diner-esque establishments serve this as a variation on the theme of fries).

But is there anywhere in NYC where one can experience this uniquely French-Canadian dish of french fries with cheese curds and hot gravy? It's a gooey mess, and it's definitely a heart-stopper if any.

I've had a pretty decent version of poutine in a tiny frites place just below st. marks on second ave., but is there anywhere that makes a damn good one?
