potatoes roasted in duck fat

I have some rendered duck fat and have not had much expense using it. I have eaten potatoes roasted in duck fat and thought they were great- any suggestion on how much duck fat to use? Do I need to melt it so that it is liquid and not solid before tossing with potatoes? any tips would be great! What are some other great uses for the duck fat- I have quite a bit.
