Potato Spaetzle. What do you think?

I love the texture, size and ease of spaetzle. I also really love the flavor of potato gnocchi. How do you think it would work if I watered down my gnocchi recipe to a batter so I could put it through my spaetzle maker?

Would the texture be wrong? My usual gnocchi recipe is as follows:

2 pounds potatoes
2 cups flour
2 eggs
2 tbl butter
salt
nutmeg

My usual spaetzle recipe is:

2/3 c flour
1 egg
1/4 cup water
salt
nutmeg

Should I maybe use less potato? What I'm after is the ease of spaetzle making with the flavor of gnocchi and still a nice texture.
