We stumbled upon "Potato Valley Cafe" in Annapolis, MD a few Saturday's ago while killing time before an office get together. This restaurant is located at 47 State Circle literally across from the State House. You might not notice it if you're not looking for it. There was no obvious signage except for a placard on the wall which blended in with the brick and some small neon in the windows. The other clue was one bistro table and chair set in front.
Looking almost like a nice chain run ice cream parlor on the inside, there are several tables and chairs and bench seating available. When you walk up to the counter, you are presented with a fairly large list of ways to have a roasted potato. There are vegetarian options, meat eater options and a few selections that I just can't imagine. Potatoes seem to run between $4-$6 dollars.
Hubby ordered the two cheese potato (Cheddar cheese and blue cheese dressing with greens) I ordered a more classic bacon and cheddar potato. These are NOT little potatoes! And they come with an assortment of greens and fixings on the side by default.
Our potatoes were well roasted, not mealy or underdone. The assortment of fixings could almost be considered a small salad.
We left very satisfied and with all intentions of another visit next time we're in the area. I noticed on the menu that the also offer salads, sandwiches, and soups. Soups apparently appear only in the fall and winter.
