It's cold and overcast with a forecast of snow. A perfect afternoon for making pot roast in an LC oven. At least I thought it was LC. I've had this oval-shaped DO forever...it's probably 30/40 years old...inherited from my mother but almost never used by me. To my surprise, there's no LC label. Instead this elegant, dark brown, enameled cast iron dutch oven is marked "Made In France" and "Cousances."
Does anyone know about Cousances? It sure looks like LC and cooks like LC. Were these two companies related? Is Cousances an alternate label for LC? Or is it separate company? Does it still exist?
Attention cookware historians! Can anyone set me straight?
