We had dinner at Positanos for the first time last evening. Its located at Preston and Frankford. We were delighted to hit upon such a wonderful find. It seems this restaurant is under publicized. The service was stellar. Glasses always refilled timely, food promptly served, needs perfectly meet and they were very accommodating to special requests. They even made a special pasta for our toddler. For appetizers we started with the bruschetta. The tomato topping was very fresh and complimented the crusty garlic bread very well. We also enjoyed the complimentary pickled vegetables. They had a great smoky flavor that we are still trying to figure out! Three of us had the sea bass. It was cooked to perfection and rivaled our favorite sea bass from the Caribbean. It had a delicious buttery wine sauce and was served on mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. We were all very pleased with this selection. For dessert I had the cheese cake. It was round cheesecake rather than a slice, garnished with toasted almonds, berries and an amaretto sauce. It was decadent. Several others at the table had the Vesuvio. It was essentially a molten chocolate cake which normally is rather bland. This one must have been made with Valrohna or other similar high quality chocolate. It was in a category of its own. We will definitely be going back again and were so happy to find such a gem.
