New small cafe run by a couple, she cooks, he serves and makes great (!) coffees. Simple, excellent Italian food, made with fresh, quality ingredients. Each day they make new dishes, between $8-14, there is no set menu and the portions are generous, as is the service friendly. Recommended are the pastas (stuffed shells especially), bean salad, parmigianas. The husband occasionally cooks authentic Mexican and we have eaten the outstanding Ceviche and also Poblanos in light cream sauce. Baked goods, particularly the Pandoro, warm, is very good. Open for lunch/dinner, eat in or take out. BYOB, we often bring a bottle of wine at dinner. Check out it Chowhounders, a little pricey but worth the trip even from Croton, (yes we live in Montrose, but I would drive from Croton!) as there is nothing else comprable in the area. Just past the Cortlandt train station on the right in the small shopping mall going North on 9A. This is sincere good food 'Hounds, in an area where its needed!
