Portland's best?

e.d. | Dec 20, 200211:03 AM

I'm going to be in Portland for a couple days right after Christmas for a funeral, so I don't know if I will get many opportunities to go chowhounding. But just in case, I'd like to ask what you folks think are the best choices for Asian cuisines: In particular, I love Japanese (including sushi); Thai; Vietnamese; and Korean. Also are there any good places serving unusual cuisines like Hmong, Cambodian, Laotian, or Hakka? In addition, as if I haven't already asked enough, are there any reasonably priced, interesting restaurants that I should try if I get the chance? As I said, I may only be able to try one or two of these places, but I'd like to learn what is there. I've already read the discussion of Ethiopian food (and it is too bad that Jarra's has gone downhill), but anything else you Rose City 'hounds have to recommend, I would love to hear about it.

Thanks in advance,
