Portland Three Nights: Original Pancakes, Fresh Abalone & Niel and Jimmy... any thoughts?

The SummerVillian | Sep 7, 200502:12 AM     5

Only get to the Rose City every year or so : (
but try to make the most of it.
Would a couple of you hounds please help an New England
one out with two or three suggestions for just great food...
Have had great abalone at Wildwood... fun, kinda GOP style, retro steaks at Ringside and Americas best apple pancakes at the Original up on the hill!
So, as you can see i'm still pretty much stuck with my 70's ways. (when I was an Oregonian too) Northwest, down home, and any great cooking, regardless of style -from truckstops to sweet Niel and Jimmy's Country Inn
(my late lamented favorite down in old Coeberg) is especially appreciated... any favorite places down valley or otherwise w/ in a 50 mi radius is fine too. Thanks hounds!
