New artisanal bakery on NW 21st. Damn it's good. Had been sick for a week or so and just getting back on solid foods. Tried a macaroon (not the coconut kind) and a chocolate caramel tart. Amazing. Both in a chilled case so the ganache filling in between the macaroons was nice and cool as was the tart. Cool, delicate, refreshing and really good and frankly, I don't like sweets. I wish I would have had an appetite to try the chocolate bombes or the brioche or....there's just too much. There's also a nice "garage" type window that makes up one of the walls that flips up opening the place up nicely.
Apparently Ken uses Mr. Espresso coffee, the same used at Chez Panisse (whose coffee I do enjoy). Give this place a try. It's worth it.
