PRTJ is in a converted house in a Santa Monica neighborhood better known for dentist's offices and auto parts. Very quiet at night. Decor is typical Caribbean with colorful chairs and walls. As it's a converted house there are several small rooms and a couple of tables on the porch.

People were very friendly and recommended the jerk chicken which I got extra spicy. I had the go somewhere so it sat in my can for 3 hours before I could eat it but it was still the best jerk I've had in LA though I am by no means an expert. Heat was good but flavorful and the rice/beans had good texture and flavor.

I would be interested in finding out what 'hounds more versed in jerk think.

5 chicken with rice/beans and plantains $7.50
