Porky's Pizzeria (pizza, fried chicken, Banjo night), San Leandro report w/ pics

hhc | Mar 28, 200807:40 PM

We went on Thurs 3/27/08 for Banjo Night. About 13 or so senior citizens get together on Thurs from 7:30p-9:30p to play banjo, sing, line dance, and some even slow dance. It's cheesy but sometimes it's fun, though it's Loud in there.

We got there at peak dinner rush so we had to stand in line to place our order. Don't expect anyone to clean the tables when it's busy. You got to bus your own.

We ordered: a mini 1/2 Porky's combo & 1/2 vegetarian. A mini has 8 slices!!! Cost $11.25. I thought it was fine because it was temperature hot & crisp on the bottom, though too much toppings & no sauce (or none I could taste). Hubby liked it, but he doesn't like sauce anyways.

He got the 4-pc chicken dinner. He picked dark meat & got thighs & legs plus comes w/ small thing of coleslaw, thick steak fries, & 2 slices of garlic bread. Garlic bread is really just french bread w/ butter..no garlic taste at all. I didn't try the other stuff, hubby liked his chicken.

Subtotal $18.94 + tax $1.66 = $20.60. We paid Cash, if u want to use ATM or Credit they charge an extra .50 or something like that. That's evil.

There's a bar area for drinking beer. Hubby got a glass of Drakes Expedition for $3.90. He liked it. Lots of other beers and he talked to someone that mentioned a tasting of beer on Fri.

There's TV's, arcade games, & a hoop game. Separate bathrooms available. Women's is just 1 toilet/1 sink.

Some seats outside too.
