A current LA post for a fried bologna sandwich brought back great times I had on cold days way back.... Anyway, What I am asking is has anyone ever had a sub, po'boy, Poor Boy, etc. (i.e., cold cut sandwich) that was served Hot on a long roll? All the cold cuts heated or fried and the cheese melted over them. In L.A. I recall two sandwich shops that called it a "Sub" if it were cold but when heated it was called a "Poor Boy." The explanation was that a "Poor Boy" thinks it is a hot meal. I must have been a poor boy and I would like to have another such hot meal. Any other regional names and what state were they made?
