Pony prix fixe revisted- Chowfind

Vinnie Vidimangi | Oct 4, 2004 01:18 PM

We were at Pony last Monday to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

We had the prix fixe, which was comprised of items from the a la carte menu. We had every item offered: mushroom soup, caesar salad, pine nut encrusted snapper, lamb shank with a (lamb saugage) cassoulet, lemon tart and tiramusu. We shared somewhat,in memory of our practice before marriage(BM, when we would order one of everything- soup, salad, pasta , entree, etc and share the lot.) Two very nice meals and each dinner was only $22.95!

We have to been to Pony a number of times recently .The cooking is very good. What we realy like is that each main course plate is complete ; everything on it complements and the plate itself is interesting (we are getting older), delicious and satisfying (but more discerning).

Pony is very reasonable- even cheap - at a la carte prices given how good the meals are. At the prix fixe price of $22.95, Pony is a huge bargain and a Chowhound must.

The prix fixe menu changes with what the chef/proprietor wants to move (but there never has been a sign of compromise in quality) and is available Monday to Thursday. Call to find out what's on, 416-923-7665.
