PONTO Frozen Curry Pie?

estufarian | Dec 19, 2003 05:44 PM

Sometime in the past few months I purchased (in Toronto) one of these in a 550gm package (I often pick up interesting looking packages). It's not really a pie, but more of a flaky pastry with curried flavouring that is intended to be used as a pie base (or topping) - you fry or bake the 'pie' and add other ingredients (e.g. beef, egg, onions) and can serve it flat or rolled up. For example, one of the recipes on the back is for 'Finger Cooked Pie' "Revolving the fried cooked pie with hands to a crisp".
But it's actually a great base for all sorts of things - only problem is I can't recall where I found it.
Has anybody out there seen this so that I can have more cooked fingers? The producer (Ponto International Development Co, Ltd) is based in Taipei. Google returns zero hits! I have the UPC if that helps (although when I entered it into a UPC decoder it responded 'The UPC you entered is invalid').
