"Pollo Necio" Mesqite Charcoal grilled chicken in Pan City/Van Nuys Area

Pollo Necio (Foolish/Stupid/ Stubborn Chicken) I guess. Don't ask me about the name, I have no idea why!

Corner Stand/Dive in an old strip mall. I have driven by this place many times over the years, Seeing them grill whole chickens on their outdoor mesquite charcoal grills and the smoke & smell coming from the grilling. After years of driving by numerous times, I've finally decided to give it a try. I can't believe how good it was. I had their combo plate. Large piece of marinated grilled skirt steak, two large well marinated flavorfull pieces of chicken, tortillas, rice & beans, and a canned soft drink. all for $8. regular size beef or chicken quesadillas for $1. Such a deal! You definately cannot eat like this @ Pollo Loco. It's different & better than Pollo Loco when it comes to charcoal mesquite grilled chicken, IMHO. I was stuffed & very satisfied. If you like the Mexican style "backyard/@ the park BBQ" this is definately the place in the S.F.V. I don't have an address but it's on the corner of Woodman Avenue & Woodman Place. Between Saticoy & Sherman Way. Very popular with the neighborhood locals. I'll definately be going back.
