pollo campero

had to pick a friend up late last night from Laguardia Airport, so we decided to swing by Pollo Campero on Roosevelt Avenue just off of 104th Street to see what all the fuss was about. We got a yellow box of 8 pieces of chicken (there were two of everything) for 14.08 (including tax)

verdict. Tasty but not spectacular, and somewhat greasy to boot. What was nice was the chicken itself seemed to have some marinated flavor.
Personally for fast food take out, I still prefer Popeyes. But I think this is one of those places that appeals to a "I grew up with this taste" nostalgic feel.
