Taking a digression from the polenta post to a full discussion...
Cristina posted an interesting recipe for pozole in the polenta thread. Can it be made with other things besides a pig head and foot? I don't really have those on hand.
What else can go into it, besides the stuff she lists? Condiments?
I've had versions of this before and it sounds like the perfect thing for this weekend as it's supposed to be FREEZING here in NYC.
Also, can this be made in a crockpot/slow cooker?
