polenta cooking question

Am making osso bucco for a dinner party on Sunday night and was considering making creamy polenta to serve with it, maybe putting a mound of polenta on a serving platter and surrounding it with the shanks.

But, will my polenta get hard and crustry if it is sitting on the table during the meal?

Should I be less interesting and just make some mashed potatoes so I don't have to worry?

I know I sound neurotic... big thanks to any experienced polenta cookers out there!
