hi all, nice to be back on the sf board after two years in chicago. i'm looking forward to eating more fresh produce and less meat (i am coming from a town where sausage and peppers are considered a side dish).
first, i'm going to spend some time in point reyes, and i need some recommendations on some decent eats. i plan to have dinner at manka's, so something in contrast (in terms of food and price) seems like it would fit the bill. and any place with a good pie would be a dream come true.
second, i would like to know if there are any other chowish things to do in the area. in particular, i would like to check out cowgirl creamery, but i cannot tell from the website when they are open for tours. however, besides the cheese, is there anything else to see in the area?
third, since i've been away, what is the latest and greatest in the bay area? the last hot topic i remember on the board was south seafood village. i have been going over the board, and it is pretty overwhelming (or i'm feeling particularly lethargic right now). a quick cliff notes would be greatly appreciated.
as soon as i get to the bay area, i'm going to buy some fruit from berkeley bowl, a couple of slices from cheeseboard, and go to rivoli for the duck two ways. sweet baby!
