Last yr I gave mom this cookbook, and she loved it. Recommendations for an upcoming birthday?
Qualifications: she's a good cook, but not super adventurous (so I ruled out Wolfert's "Slow..."), they live kinda in the middle of nowhere (and she doesn't do mail-order) so ingredients more exotic than fresh herbs and a decent olive oil are not always easy to come by, she's not into cooking Asian food. They eat lots of meat, but not alot of lamb, and not much fish. She doesn't use the Zuni book often bec. she doesn't have much time most days to cook -- but she loves it bec. every time she's taken the time and made the effort everything's been "just so darn good!"
I'm stumped, and really in need of suggestions!
