a pleasant rasberri surprise

french roast | Oct 25, 200401:03 AM

I tried something tonight I just had to share. I normally am not one to jump on the bandwagon of fru fru, girly flavored vodkas, BUT--drawn in by the pretty bright red bottle (and the sale price at Ralph's this week) I bought a bottle of Absolut Rasberri vodka. It is WONDERFUL. It's a fragrant, fruity burst of rasberry on the tongue, without a hint of sweetness. No cough syrupy taste here! Although it is fruity, it is by far the cleanest tasting fruit vodka I've tried. It reminds me somewhat of the wonderful eau-de-vie from France. It was lovely with just some sparkling water and a splash of lime. Then, I got the idea to make a cosmopolitain with it, and went immediately to cocktail heaven.
