So last night on our maiden voyage to Shabu Zen a friend ('chief of poweshiek' for those here who have met this elusive boy in the flesh) confided in me that he had never had soft shell crab. In fact under emergency public interrogation it turned out that he was unfamiliar with even the rudiments of the idea of said sea-life. Although I generally consider the chief's palette to be singularly peerless, in this respect it is apparently downright impoverished and bordering dangerously on bankrupt. Clearly this is totally unacceptable.
The only reasonable course of action at this point is to take proactive measures and rehabilitate my friend. To that end I want to make sure his first soft shell crab experience is definitive and lasting. Since Boston is quite a distance from the little shack on Long Beach Island, New Jersey where I first tore apart a soft shell crab, I can't bring him to my personal ssc Mecca and must admit to a shocking amount of ignorance regarding local pillars of divine crabbage.
And so I humbly submit the question to you, my most esteemed peers -- Where can I aquire such a specimen?
Important Style Note:
I'm not looking for Peach Farm Seafood soft shell crab in this instance. I want the crabs to appear whole before my friend in all their juicy splendor.
