tried plate nyc last night on elizabeth street. spacewise, it's cool. staff is a bit inexperienced, but def trying. problem is food sucks. interesting sounding dishes, with good ingredients, but just not tasty. too heavy on the salt (and i love salt) and sugar so you don't taste the food. only decent dish was app serrano ham and cheese croquettes, but it's fried - not hard to make fried food tasty.
ceviche was just salty. i had grouper entree that i could tell was v. good quality fish, but just had too much salt on it. my friend had duck entree that wasn't as salty but had a strange herb that just didn't compliment the duck.
not worth going.
