Help me plan my Lobster Roll Quest of NE Mass, Coastal NH, and SE Maine

L2k | Sep 3, 201404:56 AM     27

If the current forecast for this weekend (rain) improves, we'll be doing our "every 3-5 year coastal quest for lobster rolls" trip up to Maine, probably no further north than Scarborough. Yes, Red's Eats is worth the extra distance, but we don't have the time (or gas money) to get there.

We leave Metrowest Boston around 10AM, and try to keep within 10-15 miles of Routes 95 and 1 up to Southeastern Maine. In the past we've enjoyed The Clam Shack in Kennebunkport, Lobster Shack at Two Lights in Cape Elizabeth, and Chauncey Creek in Kittery.

We usually hit Hodgies on the ride home for ice cream. And maybe we've gotten one last lobster roll there as well.

We liked all the above, but there must be others to recommend to us. Let me hear your favorites in that geographic area, starting north of 495 as inside 495 does not qualify for Quest level for us. Places where you eat outside are definitely preferred over places where you go inside, sit, down, and order.

Thanks!
