I've started cooking from Fuschia Dunlop's "Every Grain of Rice" (my vote for maybe the single best cookbook I've ever owned) and it has made me realize how few specifically Chinese ingredients are carried by my nearby H-Mart (which is more Korean-focused) or other markets close to me in NW Philly that are more Southeast Asian-oriented.
For dry ingredients like Sichuan Peppercorns and chilis, pickles like ya cai, or sauces like the many different forms and brands of Chinese soy sauces - what are the best places in the Philly area to shop?
