Best place for oysters on the water in Texas

Hi everyone. Here's an odd request. I turned 40 this year and made a list of things to do. One of which is to eat a live oyster. I discussed this with my bf, and he suggested rather than do it here in Tulsa, that we drive down south to the water in Texas and find a restaurant there.

My heart isn't set on any particular city. Only requirements are: It is on the water. (the restaurant doesn't have to be, but should be close enough to be an hour drive or less to the ocean, however the closer the better). Obviously, something local, scenic, with really good, fresh and SAFE food is a huge bonus. Prefer not a chain. Any suggestions? I have plenty of time to plan this out... i might go next week, or next June.
