I like PJ's Oyster Bed. There's just something about it...
Is it the open kitchen with the quick bursts of flames every few minutes....is it the lttle old waitress who reminds me of my great aunt that's been working there for 25 years.....is it that it's always crowded, warm, and full of fun? I don't know.
The food is for the most part pretty good. The drinks are very good. I guess I just like it.
I was there Saturday night for dinner. We sat at the bar as usual. Had a couple drinks. Proceeded to order the calamari and rock shrimp appetizers. Split a caesar salad. And split the seared tuna over mashed potatoes with a side of chard and bok choy. The apps were both very good. The salad surprisingly poor (i guess i'm used to the zuni caesar) though it did taste strongly of anchovy which was nice, and the tuna was good. Overall it was a fine meal. Splitting everything kept the food costs down, which meant more money for alcohol. And it helped that the bartender messed up on a few drink orders and passed the mistakes on to us.
Overall it was $112 with tax and tip.
I think that's a good deal for all that food and a gang of drinks.
It was nice, and as always i'll be going back.
