Pizzaiolis Neapolitan Wood Fired Pizza has recently opened in Naples at 2359 Vanderbilt Beach Rd.in the "Collection at Vanderbilt" at the Northwest corner of Airport and Vanderbilt Beach Rd. Web site: http://www.pizzaiolis.com/. Although they have a much wider menu, it's the pizzas that we were after. This is the real deal: a rustic, hand-made thin-crust pizza; they claim that most of the ingredients are imported from Italy. Personally I though it was absolutely delicious, with a very thin crust, chewy puffy edges, puddles of home-made mozzarella, and wonderfully fresh-tasting toppings (including outstanding fennel sausage). Actually, I'm usually not much of a fan of the typical mass-produced pizza-joint pizza, but this stuff is goooood. Can't wait to go back.
