Pizza Palace in Astoria

Have any of you been to Pizza Palace on Ditmars and 31st Street? The place is big and gaudy looking, and I wouldn't have expected it to be all that great because of that; but I swear, it's the best pizza I've ever had - and I've had a lot of pizza.

They have regular slices, sicilian, and fancy thin crust pizzas along with some unique variations on the pizza theme. Everything is delicious and the prices astoundingly reasonable for the quality: a 14" thin crust pizza *covered* with prosciutto, arugula, fresh mozzarella, and tomatoes is $8.95. A slice of cheese pizza is $2. The toppings are very generous without seeming like too much.

I strongly recommend it to those who love pizza, and it's very easy to get to as long as you're willing to take the N train to the last stop (about 15 minutes from midtown Manhattan, not bad at all). Just exit the train, walk north toward Ditmars, and you can't miss its giant striped awning.
