Pizza Johns

The other day, people were talking about Pizza Johns which has got to be the best place for a cheese steak sub, pizza is wonderful too. I started going there as a young college student in the early 70's. It was just a hole in the wall then, not the showplace it is now. We would cut class or go there in the evenings and get a sub and then ride around in somebody's car just cruising looking up old boyfriends or maybe meeting new ones. Well, the sub was so thick with steak and cheese and my girlfriend would even get extra cheese. The juice from the sub while eating it would roll down your arms if you didn't have alot of napkins to catch it. When my children were born in the early 80's, I would take them and meet my mother-in-law there too. I still go there 3 decades later with my older son, who is autistic and is almost non-verbal but when he gets in my car and says "John's", I know exactly where he wants to go. He polishes off a whole 12" pizza and some fries. I order it ahead so that it's ready when we get there. I order either a chef salad or garden salad and try to only eat only 1 or 2 slices of pizza. Sometimes I take a cheesesteak sub home to my hubby well, yesterday, I ordered a 1/2 cheesesteak for myself. I could only eat 1/2 of the 1/2 with the salad so I took the rest home. It's real thick with steak and cheese and the roll was exquisitely crisp and the juice was dripping out, just like I rememebered all those years ago. It's nice to know in these bad economic times that some things have not changed, if you get a chance check it out, I promise you won't be disappointed.
