I'm going to be in Pittsburgh this weekend at a convention, staying at the Westin. I know absolutely nothing about this area -- or the rest of the city, for that matter. (I live in San Jose, CA.) I've heard the Westin itself has a good-but-overpriced seafood restaurant, but I'm curious what else might be around the convention center/hotel.
For added bonus complications: I won't have a car! I'm willing to walk a couple miles to a sufficiently interesting place, though, and it's possible I could get a ride to a restaurant if I can convince someone else it's interesting, although I don't know how many other chowhound-ish types will be available.
Thanks for any pointers!
