Anyone found pita here like in Detroit?

JDB | Jun 23, 2004 03:53 PM

When I spent some time in Michigan a couple of years back, we used to get super-fresh, very thin pita bread. Our favorite was from a place called the New Yasmeen Bakery in Dearborn, but that bakery supplied it to local supermarkets, which is where we bought it.

Does anyone know of a place here in Manhattan where I can get nice, thin, fresh pita? All of the pita I've found has been of the thicker (maybe greek, versus middle-eastern which is thinner?) variety. And usually it's not fresh.

I think the Amish Marker on 9th Ave. had something close, but it wasn't very fresh. Pita gets stale quickly, thus the obsession with freshness.
