Decided to take a drive and visit the big new Sono Collection Mall in Norwalk, CT. It is huge and airy, and apparently still a work in progress, anchored by Bloomingdale's at one end, and Nordstrom on the other. The signs said there was a lot of food service 'coming soon', especially on the third level. We took a break at Pinstripes, one of the sprawling new restaurant/entertainment spots, and sat ourselves down at the bar. It happened to be during their Sunday brunch which was set up all over the dining/lounge area. There must have been perhaps 7 stations from salads, carving station, to desserts. Our friendly bartender told us it cost $28 per person. Seemed like a whole lot of food for that price. The regular eclectic Italian/American menu seemed to hit all the right chords from wood fired pizza to short ribs to seasonal gelato. Anyway, we got two Bloody Marys and loaded them up at the Bloody Mary bar. That was fun, spiked mine all the way. Sat for a while watching the action. Took a walk down to the bowling alley and it was busy, too. The bocce court was empty and we were tempted to play a few rounds. Perhaps next time. It was a balmy day for January, and it was nice to see people actually sitting outside on the rooftop deck.
Apparently, this is a part of a 13-unit group out of Cleveland, OH., with operations from Kansas to The Beltway, and now Norwalk, CT. Anyone tried them?
