I am posting this with great reluctance. Not because I don't want to share my find with fellow Chowhounds but because I'm terrified of showing my ignorance about wine. I have advanced past buying wine based on liking the art on the label (although I gotta admit--the New Mexicoish coyote on this bottle is kinda cute) but still cannot describe a wine beyond "I like it" or "I don't like it". Mr. Chowfish and I agreed we both like this one. And, even better, it's barely out of the Two Buck Chuck price range. It's Coyote Creek Pinot Noir 2001. Wilfred Wong gives it 88 points. And it's one of BevMo's current 'buy one and the second is a nickel' sale. So it's a steal at $5.
Melanie reminded me that this was one of the wines Nestorious pointed out during our post-Shanghai Gourmet BevMo field trip last January.
There was a fairly extensive list of nickel bottles--if anyone else finds a good one I hope you'll share it with us.
Sale ends October 27.
