Pinocchios is a small italian restaurant located next door to the Monte Carlo Italian Deli.
I've been to the deli several times (reasonable prices on all kinds of great italian foodstuffs, excellent ground chuck which I made into delicious hamburgers last night), and have been wanting to try the pizza at Pinocchios, which I finally did this weekend.
The pizza had a very thin, crunchy crust, just the right amount of nice tomatoey sauce and good toppings. I had garlic, tomato and italian ham. The only complaint was that it needed a little salt.
They also have a very nice Pinocchios Chef Salad. Unlike any chef salad I've ever seen. There was very little lettuce, but more than generous amounts of marinated tomatoes, feta cheese (not a salty sharp tasting one, but very mild), marinated mushrooms, olives, pickeled beets, three bean salad, rolled provolone and mortadella, shredded cabbage. It was great. Definitely worth the $4.75 I paid. It also came with two chunks of garlic bread -- not spectacular, but good.
The salad, medium pizza (which was 14 inches -- they don't have small, only med. and large) and a pepsi was $18.
Quite a few people were getting their pasta. They had lasagna and spaghetti. Also they had about 8 different sandwiches, meatballs, sausage and veal.
This is not a full service restaurant. You order at the counter, take your food (pizza is delivered to your table), pay at the register and sit down. The tables are bused by them.
Pizza is only available after 2 pm. That's why I had missed it on previous occasions.
