Ping's - Chinatown

My gut instinct said, don't book your party at Ping's but then I felt that they would have the room for 20 that we needed... It was my 1st time there, and unfortunately my last unless I hear otherwise.
Most of the people I was with were not adventurous eaters. We ordered a seafood mai-fun dish which was gloppy, a almond? crusted chicken, dry, tasteless, A garlic chicken which was greasy but tasty, some dumplings, and fried oysters, the best dish of all. There were other dishes we ordered, but I can't remember the details. I just felt all the flavors of the dishes were very similar, except for the oysters nothing stood out.
Also -- the prices were a bit higher then I expected. Entrees averaged $15-16.00, and 3 dumplings for $4.65. I read a bunch of mixed reports here before I booked, but I now realize I made a bad choice. The good thing was we were still able to have a great time.
