Yesterday I picked up a little pineapple called piña miel from one of the Hispanic grocers in Salinas, CA. Priced at $1.49 each, I didn't weigh it but it was heavy for its size. Trying it for breakfast , we liked it quite a bit. Fully ripe, sweet as honey as promised with intense flavor and deep yellow-colored flesh bursting with juice. It had a minimum amount of core to discard.
