I'm a fairly frequent visitor to Pilot Point, stay with friends, and we eat out most of the time when I'm there. We keep it simple, and they have found some good places. Recent visit:
Nick's Italian - Pilot Point. Service was friendly, and attentive...and the shrimp scampi I ordered was good, not great, but tender and flavorful. They tend to over-sauce everything in the old school way- not necessarily a bad thing. In their defense, I ordered all vegetables for my side dish instead of pasta. All that sauce would have made more sense with pasta. It's byob- I'd brought a bottle from California that went great with all that we ordered. We were so tired the following night, that we came back and did take-out - pizzas, salad, and the stuffed mushrooms in that hopelessly addictive aristocrat sauce!
LSA Burger - Denton. Upstairs at the bar is the place to sit tho outside would be fine on a cooler day. Can get loud downstairs when they have music and the wait for a table can sometimes be long. The garlic parmesan herb fries are really what it's all about. Menu has a variety of burgers, salads, appetizers, some mediocre at best(brisket queso dip? yech) to pretty good(salads). The crab cake was more of a crab slab, not especially flavorful but the dressing made up for it. Again, drinks and Garlic Parm herb fries- nuff said.
Upper Park Café - Aubrey. Loved this place. Breakfast and lunch only (6a.m.-2p.m) The food is very fresh, nicely prepared and tasty. The salsa's were great - just enough kick to make my taco salad interesting without overpowering it. Would have liked to go for breakfast...next time.
Ernesto's - Pilot Point. Mexican restaurant with the encyclopedia menu, good food (tostada or chile relleno are my choice) and great margs. Lots of food. Service is prompt, reliable, friendly.
