Pillsbury/Duncan Hines Canned Frosting

Hi all. I'm new here and I thought I'd join because I love to bake

and I bake pretty much every week. I experiment with lots of recipes.

I have successfully been able to bake brownies that taste exactly

like the store-bought brownie mix from scratch, and I have also been

able to bake cake that tastes like the boxed version.

I'm now determined to make frosting that tastes identical to the

Pillsbury or Duncan Hines from the store. I feel as though it's

possible to recreate canned frosting, but I'm not exactly sure where to start.

I'm afraid I won't be able to recreate canned frosting since it

contains a lot of ingredients I might not have access to at home. I

am experienced with homemade frostings, and they taste nothing like canned frosting AT ALL.

I believe canned frosting does not have butter, so I imagine if I

used Crisco it might be a better bet? So far, the frosting I've been

using for many cakes is cream cheese frosting.
