Piling on Pio Pio

Dave Feldman | Dec 20, 1998 07:06 PM

Alas, I have little to add other than EGG and Jeremy
were right. Pio Pio is indeed wonderful. My friend
Stinky and I split the "Peruvian Combo" -- an avocado
salad w/nice dressing and cruddy tomatoes, and a
Platonic rotisserie chicken and fries. The skin on
the dark meat of the chicken should be offered only to
people who really deserve it .

Only three disappointments:

1. I wasn't wild about the sour pisco. Why are drinks
with "sour" in their name always too sweet?

2. Pio Pio ran out of ceviche by the time we were
there (4:00 p.m. on sunday, and they were totally

3. There were only two of us. Which meant that there
weren't enough of us to split the fried seafood
platter, large enough to feed 4-8 as an entree. It
looked wonderful, and seems to be a regular Sunday

Jeremy mentioned that he went there for his birthday,
and now I understand completely what he was referring
to: I can't think of a more fun place to have a
birthday party.
